Football training isn’t just for kids and academy hopefuls. Some of the most popular sessions on our schedule are our adult football classes, and they’re open to complete beginners as well as players who used to turn out every Sunday morning and fancy getting back into it.
Why adults are getting back into football
Football is one of the few workouts that doesn’t really feel like a workout. Sprinting, changing direction and striking a ball all add up to a proper cardio session, but the time flies by because you’re focused on the game rather than the clock.
There’s more to it than fitness though. Adult sessions are a good way to meet people in a relaxed, team-based setting, blow off some steam after a long week at work, and relearn the basics like passing, first touch and shooting at your own pace. Turning up on the same night each week also helps if you’ve been struggling to stick to a regular exercise routine.
What to expect in a session
Our adult classes are structured but never intimidating. A typical session runs through a warm-up, some technical drills on passing and finishing, small-sided games so everyone gets plenty of touches on the ball, and a cool-down at the end.
Coaches adjust the intensity depending on who’s in the room. Whether you’re carrying an old five-a-side habit or picking up a ball for the first time in years, you won’t feel out of place.
No experience necessary
You don’t need boots covered in mud and years of Sunday league scars to join in. All you need is trainers or boots and a bottle of water. Our coaches are there to build confidence just as much as skill.
